It is an additional service of the broadcasters for accessibility. However, this service is not offered and broadcast by every broadcaster and it can also still depend on the particular show or film. That&#8217;s why sometimes people wonder why this problem occurs with some broadcasters and not with others and suspect that something is wrong with the broadcaster-specific audio setting. This additional audio track broadcast by the stations can be activated or deactivated via the audio description setting.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Switching_the_audio_description_on_and_off\"><\/span>Switching the audio description on and off<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Of course, turning the audio description on and off depends on the manufacturer and the type of TV. In this case, we will show how to <strong>enable or disable audio description<\/strong> on most <strong>Samsung<\/strong> TVs.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, there is either the <strong>AD button<\/strong> or an <strong>AD\/SUBT button<\/strong> on the remote control. It is obvious that AD stands for audio description. The best way to get to the audio settings of these is to use the <strong>Menu button<\/strong> or <strong>Home button<\/strong> and search for <em>Audio Description<\/em>. Some models, including Samsung&#8217;s Smart TVs, which only have a minimal remote control without the AD button, also have an <em>Accessibility<\/em> menu item. Then you should look for the setting there. In some Samsung models you have to go to the menu <strong><em>Settings =&gt; Accessibility =&gt; Setting for audio description<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Or use <strong><em>Menu<\/em>-Button <\/strong>and go to <strong>&#8220;<em>Sound<\/em>&#8220;<\/strong> or &#8220;<strong><em>Sound Mode<\/em>&#8220;<\/strong>. Then select <em><strong>&#8220;Broadcast option&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> and select <em><strong>&#8220;Audio language&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>. There you can select your language, e.g. <em><strong>&#8220;English&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> or <strong><em>&#8220;English AD&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>. If you select <em>&#8220;English&#8221;<\/em> the audio description is turned off and if you select <em>&#8220;English AD&#8221;<\/em> audio description is turned on.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Deactivating_audio_description_on_a_Philips_TV\"><\/span>Deactivating audio description on a Philips TV<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On Philips TVs you have to press the <em><strong>&#8220;Home&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>-Button. Then select <em><strong>&#8220;Settings&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> or <strong><em>&#8220;Quick Settings&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Go to <em><strong>&#8220;Accessibility&#8221; \u2b9e &#8220;Audio description&#8221; \u2b9e &#8220;OFF&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Deactivating_audio_description_on_an_LG_TV\"><\/span>Deactivating audio description on an LG TV<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Search for <strong><em>&#8220;Accessibility Settings&#8221;<\/em><\/strong> in Settings menu.
