Vmware allows to call the boot menu with the ESC key. However, there is very little time before the operating system starts.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/k5Egy_WL11A\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>One possibility is to increase the time span during booting. To do this, edit the VMX file of the virtual machine and add the following line:<\/p>\n<pre>\r\nbios.bootDelay = \"15000\"\r\n<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/vmware_boot_1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"303\" height=\"130\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/vmware_boot_1.png 303w, https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/vmware_boot_1-300x129.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 303px) 100vw, 303px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This sets a delay at startup. The specification is in milliseconds, i.e. 15,000 means 15 seconds in this case.
