On both my Thinkpad and a Microsoft Surface Pro 7, the CPU likes to throttle down from time to time. Often it happens when I switch from power to battery or vice versa. The CPU goes into energy-saving mode, and depending on the device, that&#8217;s usually no more than 1 Ghz. Windows then becomes arg tough, which is why I notice it immediately.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"881\" height=\"441\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_1.png 881w, https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_1-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_1-768x384.png 768w, https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_1-840x420.png 840w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 881px) 100vw, 881px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The previous solution in this case is to change the power saving mode in the settings. What to change it to doesn&#8217;t really matter, normally I have &#8220;Best performance&#8221; there, but the error occurs regardless of the setting. The workaround is to change the setting, from the current mode to another.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"807\" height=\"592\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-48342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_2.png 807w, https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_2-300x220.png 300w, https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/cpu_2-768x563.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 807px) 100vw, 807px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Windows then catches itself and releases the CPU again. This clocks then again normally and with full performance, or also after the respective mode.
