Among other things, this happens more often when dealing with people or names from Eastern Europe, especially in the South Slavic region, where names often end in <strong><em>i<\/em>\u0107<\/strong>, such as <em>Petrovi\u0107<\/em> and <em>Pavi\u0107<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to write these people correctly in a Word text document or formulate the salutation correctly in an e-mail, you first search in vain on the keyboard for such a character or a suitable key combination via <em>Shift<\/em>, <em>Alt<\/em>, <em>Ctrl<\/em> or similar.<\/p>\n<p>The solutions described below do not only apply to C with apostrophe. It is best to select the correct font here, otherwise you will have to adjust it again in the word processing programme where you insert the C with apostrophe.<\/p>\n<p>Then select the capital or small C with the dash over it and click on the &#8220;Select&#8221; button. In the <em>character selection<\/em> field, you can compose any text and also enter free text. Then click on &#8220;<strong>Copy<\/strong>&#8220;. Select the large \u0106 or small \u0107 and then click on &#8220;<em>Insert<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Key_combination_in_Office_documents\"><\/span>Key combination in Office documents<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In the Microsoft Office programmes, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint can actually also use a handy keyboard shortcut.<\/p>\n<p>For the small \u0107 write &#8220;<strong>107<\/strong>&#8221; and then press the key combination <strong>Alt+x<\/strong>. The 107 is then converted to &#8220;\u0107&#8221;. The 107 corresponds to the Unicode character for it (<em>U+0107<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>If you want the big \u0106, then write &#8220;<strong>106<\/strong>&#8221; and then again the key combination <strong>Alt+x<\/strong>. Again, the 106 is the equivalent of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.compart.com\/de\/unicode\/category\/So\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unicode character<\/a> <em>U+0106<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Note:<\/u><\/strong> Depending on the language and country setting, the key combination may be different. If you use the Office in English (USA), you have to use the key combination <strong>Alt+c<\/strong> instead of Alt+x. You can see the shortcut key in symbol dialog.<\/p>\n<p>If you need the letters \u0107\/\u0106 frequently, you will remember <a href=\"https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/en\/16333\/windows-no-context-menu-key-use-this-key-combination\/\" title=\"Windows: No context menu key? Use this key combination!\">this key combination<\/a> and it will be the quickest and shortest way. However, if you only need to write this C with apostrophe occasionally, you will probably forget the key combination again quickly. In this case, we recommend using the character table or the symbols\/special characters.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Key_combination_of_other_CroatianSouth_Slavic_special_characters\"><\/span>Key combination of other Croatian\/South Slavic special characters<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3>\u017e\/\u017d (z with roof\/hatchek, inverted circumflex or with caron)<\/h3>\n<p>Write small letter <strong>017E<\/strong> and press key combination <strong>Alt+x<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Capital Z with Hatchek\/Zikumflex Write <strong>017D<\/strong> and press <strong>Alt+x<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>\u0111\/<span class=\"box\">\u0110<\/span> (d\/D with slash\/stroke)<\/h3>\n<p>The d\/D with slash is obtained in lower case by pressing <strong>0111+Alt+x<\/strong> and in upper case by typing &#8220;<strong>0110<\/strong>&#8221; and then pressing <strong>Alt+x<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>\u010d\/<span class=\"box\">\u010c<\/span> (c\/C with roof\/hatchek, inverted circumflex or with caron)<\/h3>\n<p>The c\/C with the <b>Ha\u010dek <\/b>bor inverted roof or inverted circumflex is obtained by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Lower case: <strong>011D+Alt+x<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Capitalisation: <strong>010C+Alt+x<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u0161\/<span class=\"box\">\u0160 <\/span>(s\/S with roof\/hatschek, inverted circumflex or with caron)<\/h3>\n<p>And also the s\/S with Hatschek can be written by means of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Lower case: <strong>0161<\/strong> and key combination <strong>Alt+x<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Capitalisation: <strong>0160<\/strong> and key combination <strong>Alt+x<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Restructure_keyboard\"><\/span>Restructure keyboard<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This fourth variant is certainly not suitable for occasional use of the &#8220;C&#8221; with apostrophe. But in principle, you can also switch the keyboard completely to a language that has this letter in the alphabet by default, e.g. Croatian.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, go to &#8220;Time &amp; Language&#8221; in the <a href=\"https:\/\/ekiwi-blog.de\/en\/24719\/windows-windows-security-settings-missing\/\" title=\"Windows: Windows Security Settings missing\">Windows settings<\/a>.
