Retrofit preview of .webp files in Windows.
Google likes .webp files in websites because they have a significantly smaller file size with good quality. That’s why I mainly use this format for our new web project.
The only annoying thing is that they are not displayed as a preview in Explorer and in the Windows file dialogues.
But there is a solution, a small open source plugin. We download this from the website under “Releases”.
Then we install it.
After installation, .webp files are also displayed with Windows preview.
