Sniffnet – Monitor Internet traffic

Monitoring of Internet connections for Windows, Linux and the Mac.

Sniffnet is a free open source software for monitoring Internet traffic. The software not only shows the current transfer rate, but also which connections are being established to which server. To use it, you need “npcap”, which Wireshark also uses.

The software is limited to displaying the connections. Blocking or throttling is not possible. To be honest, it has to be said that it is difficult to derive any benefit from the software. It looks nice, but apart from that it is difficult to recognise which software is using which connection or whether software is sucking on the Internet that should not be doing so.

So: nice software, gives a bit of an overview, but there is better software for controlling and monitoring Internet traffic.
