After the latest Windows update, I got an error message from the AMD software on startup.
I had once upgraded my computer with a graphics card. I had previously used the integrated graphics. So the driver was still installed. Didn’t hurt much either.
Anyway, I got this error message now.
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition Warning --------------------------- The version of AMD Software that you have launched is not compatible with your currently installed AMD graphics driver. For information on how to resolve this, please go to: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-300
Great message, then you can type in the URL to download the tool. I did that, but after starting it, I only got the following message.
Next, I looked in the Task Manager to see where exactly the software that is running here is located.
I also found this under AMD, CNext.
Actually, the idea was simply to throw the software out of the autostart and not to uninstall it completely, as I didn’t know whether it was just the graphics card driver or something else that was missing. But I didn’t find anything there.
In the end, I uninstalled the “AMD Software”. There was also an “AMD Chipset Software”, which should contain the other things and drivers for CPU, mainboard etc. So I uninstalled and restarted. The message was gone and everything still ran without any problems.
