Install the current KeePass version in Linux.
Today I wanted to install KeePass on my Linux computer. The classic “apt-get” method did not install the current version.
On the KeePass homepage, only the Windows version is available for download. So what to do?
Installation of Mono
Now KeePass also runs under Linux without any problems, thanks to Mono. Install this if you have not already done so.
sudo apt install mono-complete
Download KeePass
We can then download the latest version of KeePass. I have opted for the portable version. This comes as a ZIP archive.
Unzip and start
We now simply need to unpack the ZIP archive. We can now simply start KeePass via the .exe file. This is executed with the Mono Runtime by default.
