Execute AppImage file in Linux.
The Nextcloud app for Linux comes as an “AppImage” file. This contains the complete application. So far so nice. But after the download, the software could not be started easily. Instead, all I got was “Unknown file type” and I was asked which application I wanted to use to open the file.
Solution: Make the file executable
The solution is simple, the file must be made executable. This can be done via the settings. Here we set the right to execute. That’s it.
