OneNote: mobile app does not synchronise

OneNote mobile Android app does not synchronise.

Recently I wanted to access my notes on the go, but nothing was synchronised. Instead, only an exclamation mark appeared next to the respective notebook. I did not receive an error message.

Although this is not quite true, an error message is displayed briefly after the start, but this quickly disappears again. The message appears:

Offline operation. Log in to synchronise your notes.

Good, this points in the right direction and there is also a log in button. Unfortunately, it didn’t do anything for me. Instead, I had to go to the account/profile to log in again.

The synchronisation then worked. Why the synchronisation was paused in the first place is not clear to me. I had not changed my password or made any other changes.
