What to do if the clone operation hangs.
One tool I recommend for cloning hard drives is MiniTool ShadowMaker. The basic version is free. Besides backup tasks, the software can also clone hard disks, for example for moving to a larger SSD.
However, there are also problems with the software here and there. Every now and then the copy process starts, but then gets stuck at 0%.
In this case, it helps to simply cancel the copy operation. In many cases, however, the Cancel button does not work. In this case, it is helpful to shoot down the process via the task manager.
We then restart the process and it usually starts within a short time.
