Linux users only get SD resolution with Amazon Prime, what about the Linux derivative ChromeOS?
Amazon doesn’t seem to like Linux users very much and delivers only a meagre SD resolution to them by default.
But what about ChromeOS? On the one hand, it is also based on Linux, but on the other hand, it is a “commercial” operating system from Google and, like on an Android tablet, we should get HD resolution here.
Unfortunately, this is not the case. At least in our test with ChromeOS Flex, we found that video playback here is also limited to SD, as we can see from the amount of data. With HD resolution, a complete film would have between 6 and 7 GB.
That’s a pity, at least older devices would make a good streaming device for the sofa.
