Emperor Battle of Dune with Windows 10 and Windows 11!
So far my attempts to play “Emperor Battle of Dune” in newer Windows versions have not been very successful.
Basically, it is due to the copy protection of the CD or the game. Even with Windows 7 it only works as long as you don’t install all patches and updates.
Installation
The first problem is already the installation. This can be started, but ended again quite quickly. I had started “setup.exe” from the CD.
After some searching on the internet I found the “Emperor Install Fix 1.0“. This is a small RAR file which brings a patched installer and game file.
For the installation we first copy the folder “SETUP” from the CD to the desktop.
Now the install fix comes into play. We replace the “SETUP.EXE” in the copied folder with the one from the installation fix.
Now the installation starts, but also crashes after the first screen. A message from Windows appears. Here we select “Installation with compatibility settings”.
This time it works, the installation can now be executed.
The tension increases with every step, but the installation succeeds.
At the end of the installation Windows asks if the program has been installed properly, which we can answer in the affirmative.
Apply patch and start game
If we now start the game directly, we are also disappointed here, it does not start. But in the install fix, besides a new .exe for the installer, there is also one for the game, the “EMPEROR.EXE”.
We now replace these in the games folder of our installation.
Now the excitement was great, does the game start? And lo and behold the game ran and runs without problems even in Windows 10/11.
The compatibility settings are a joke, setup does not work with yhem.
sadly, for me it s working on win10 but it crash after the EA games screen on win11
